Understanding The Process- Monotype Printmaking Demonstration with Liz Perry and Leslie Kramer

Sunday, April 24, 1:00 – 3:00 pm.

Members FREE / Non-Members FREE with Museum Admission

Local printmakers and current and past presidents of the Printmakers of Cape Cod, Liz Perry and Leslie Kramer will give a demonstration and pull handmade prints on the Museum's large etching press, which was generously donated to the Cape Cod Museum of Art by Brewster printmaker, Kathleen Sidwell. This demonstration highlights the recent acquisition of a large monotype, Winter Solstice, recently donated to CCMoA by Ms. Sidwell on exhibit in the current exhibition: First Look: Recent Acquisitions to the CCMoA Permanent Collection.

Leslie and Liz will give a brief talk about printmaking and have a collection of prints representing multiple methods of printmaking on display. The talk will precede the printing of a few monotypes on the press, which will demonstrate the inking up of the printing plates and give an example of multiple plate monoprinting. Light refreshments will be served during the demonstration.

First Look, a new exhibition at the Cape Cod Museum of Art celebrates recent acquisitions to the Museum’s Permanent Collection. This year’s exhibition includes works accessioned in both 2020 and 2021. Twenty-four (24) artists are represented in this selection of more than 40 works of art. With a few exceptions, this is the first time CCMoA has exhibited these works on view through May 15, 2022.

Printmakers of Cape Cod was organized in 1976 to encourage, assist, and promote printmaking on Cape Cod as well as to provide educational opportunities for new printmakers, collectors, and others interested in original prints.

Cancellation policy: 1-week notice is required for refund.
