Photographer Mark Chester reflects on his 55 years making photographs, exhibiting in galleries and museums, publishing feature stories in magazines and newspapers, and publishing six books.

In this course, five distinct periods of American History and the way artists have depicted them will be shown and discussed. Some of the artists covered are John Singleton Copley, Frederic Church, Winslow Homer, Dorothea Lange, and Romare Bearden.
