The Museum School at the Cape Cod Museum of Art presents:

Portrait Painting from Live Model with Taylor Fox

March 11 – April 8, 2022 (5 weeks)

9:00 am – 12 pm

Non-Member $320 \ Member $280

Painting from the live model, this class will focus on the portrait and finding a likeness of the sitter, with a new model each week. Working from one long pose in each class, Taylor will guide students to determine the best composition to bring the model to life with the brush. At the beginning of each painting, students will nail down the gaze and how the nose leads the eyes and the chin falls perfectly holding the lips to their expression. We will strive to see how by adding all parts of the face together correctly they can show a complete and believable person all done with paint and a brush. All are welcome.

Materials List:

• Your choice of paints
• Brushes (big and small)
• Canvases (bring large if you like or small if you choose)
• The museum has table-top or standing easels; bring your own if you prefer

Instructor Bio:

Born and raised in Orleans, Taylor Fox has dedicated himself to art from a young age. He studied painting at Pitzer College in Claremont, California, then returned home to pursue his career. Taylor’s work reflects a masterful grasp of technique with a vivid imaginative play of subject which encourages the viewer’s thought and interpretation.
