Juror's Gallery Talk & Reception: Light in a Dark Season
Time & Location
As we approach the darkest time of the year, promise of a brighter future helps to get us through. This theme, however, can also be understood less literally. As the writer, poet and visual artist, Kahlil Gibran wrote: "If you can see only what light reveals and hear only what sound announces, then in truth you do not see nor do you hear.”
Artists in this show have interpreted light, dark and season in their own way, tailoring the theme to fit their individual beliefs, viewpoints and artistic objectives.
