About

Storyteller Jenny Lee will put teens and adults in the right mood for Halloween with a good scare. She will spark our imaginations with ‘real’ spooky stories of New England’s ghosts, devils, witches and monstrous beasts in her ARTfull Thursday presentation. “The story of Hannah Screech, the witch that buries people alive, has made people jump out of their seats,” says Lee.

Jenny Lee began telling stories as a babysitter to her young cousins and hasn’t stopped since. Her passion for folklore and storytelling was born when she first heard the folktales of Cape Cod and New England as child. An avid history lover, she has been digging into archives and researching oral traditions to keep the art of traditional storytelling alive for audiences of all ages in a modern world.

Lee is currently a history teacher at Sturgis Charter Public School in Hyannis. She is a member of the Northeast Storytelling Alliance and specializes in the folktales and histories of New England.
