1-Day Workshop: Painting with a Credit Card with Patty Barnes

Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 10:00 – 4:00 pm.

Member $80 / Non-Member $100

A festive day to paint with a credit card—making bold marks that capture color and light. One may use brushes and palette knives for finer details. This is a great opportunity to paint an unusual holiday gift for a special someone! Students should bring lunch.

Materials

• Expired credit card

• 2-3 brushes

• Palette knife

• Latex gloves

• 2 panels or canvases

• Roll of paper towel

• The instructor will supply both oil and acrylic paint 

• Participants may bring photographs or follow guided examples

Patricia Barnes, an award-winning oil painter, studied watercolor, drawing, and oil painting at Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY, graduating with a BFA in Art History. Barnes earned her Master's Degree at the University of Wisconsin. Her work has sold nationally and internationally. Barnes specializes in oils that capture the heart of Cape Cod expressed through light and color— often with a touch of whimsy.

Barnes’ work is available at The Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis, MA, and Eastwind Gallery in Orleans, MA. She is a juried member of the American Impressionist Society, Inc., Oil Painters of America, and the Cape Cod Art Center.
