Cape Cod is abundant with glorious landscapes! Autumn is astonishing, and it is enhanced with stunning colors and beautiful palettes.

In this 4-week class for oil and acrylic painters, we will venture out on location to observe and gather info, then come back to the studio to put it together and make it work. Being open to trying new techniques and taking risks, will keep things fresh and exciting.  We’ll explore the importance of good landscape composition and design,  as well as pushing your color to make your painting more impactful. Get the bones of your painting down first, without wasting time in the beginning with unnecessary details… “ya don’t put up the curtains till the house is built!”  Discover the importance of building up a surface history in your paintings, and how “taking off” is just as important as “putting on.” Find your voice, be fearless, and get inspired!

Students to meet at the Cape Cod Museum of Art/Weny Education Center for the first class. Dress appropriately for the weather.

This is not a beginner’s class.

Materials

First class, bring in the supplies you wish to work in, one canvas at least 16x20, a sketchbook, drawing utensils, and your phone to take photos. Dress appropriately for the weather.
