Oil Painting For Fun

Express your artistic voice and become an oil painter. Color, light, value and composition will be addressed in this 6 week class. Students will be invited to work from photographic references. For Beginner and Intermediate students.

Gamblin or Rembrandt Oil Paint (professional grade)

Titanium White, Ivory Black, Cadmium yellow light

Cadmium yellow medium, Yellow ochre, Orange Ochre

Cadmium red light, Cadmium red medium, Alizarin Red

Ultramarine blue, Cerulean blue, Cobalt Blue, Burnt umber

Mediums:  Gamsol,  Liquin (optional) 

Can or jar to carry Gamsol solvent  Canvas: 2 each— 8x10, 9x12, 16x20 

Brushes: I use Grumbacher Gainsborough as the are easy to clean and fit well in a female hand   Sizes—#2,4,6,10,12 brights    #1,2,3 rounds 

Palette:  16x20 wood rectangle 

Freezer paper and tape Paper towel Murphy’s Oil Soap—for at home clean up 

Photographs:  Various color photographs of subjects you wish to paint.
