About

Discover the beauty of the natural world through art in this engaging and hands-on class designed for young creatives ages 6 and up. Inspired by the landscapes, wildlife, textures, and colors of Cape Cod, students will explore drawing, painting, collage, 3D art, clay, and more.

Tailored for young learners, this class provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can unleash their imagination, refine their artistic skills, and cultivate a lifelong love of both art and nature. Through guided exploration and creative experimentation, participants will not only create unique and meaningful works of art, but also develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the world around them.

Weather permitting, students will spend time outdoors in the Yasuna Denny Sculpture Garden at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, sketching, observing, and gathering inspiration from the natural surroundings and outdoor sculptures.

This enriching and memorable artistic journey encourages curiosity, confidence, and creativity in every budding young artist.

Jennifer Stratton is a visual artist, musician, and expressive/creative arts facilitator. She lives in Hyannis with her husband. Jennifer’s experience with the healing power of expressive art led to a strong desire to help others tune in to their own creative gifts. In 2009 she received her Certificate of Graduate Studies Program for the Professional Application of Expressive Arts for Healing, also at Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I. She works with organizations, groups, and individuals using expressive arts as a way for people to deepen their own self-discovery process, as a tool to deal with specific issues, and also to just have fun, learn about art and build community. Most recently, she held the position of Art Director for the Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod in Mashpee. She is also a certified CTI-trained Life Coach.

The Cape Cod Museum of Art is committed to making Art accessible to everyone in the Cape Cod Community. The Museum School Scholarship Fund provides tuition assistance to qualified, year-round Cape Cod residents ages 6 and up. Click here to apply.
