About

Thursday, February 19, and Friday, February 20, 2026, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.

Join Brewster-based artist Susan Overstreet for an enriching two-day intensive workshop focused on exploring variations in artistic themes. This hands-on experience is presented in conjunction with Variations, a Docent-Curated Permanent Collection Exhibition.

Begin your workshop experience with a guided tour of the Variations exhibition, led by Susan Overstreet and a Museum Docent. This in-depth walkthrough will provide historical context and insight into the individual artistic voices featured in the show—laying the foundation for creative exploration.

Back in the studio, participants will choose their preferred mediums and delve into a series of exercises designed to push boundaries and expand personal style. You'll explore a central theme and express it in multiple visual interpretations, applying a variety of techniques to reveal new artistic possibilities. Whether you're working in oil, acrylic, watercolor, or mixed media, Susan will help you unlock fresh approaches and expand your artistic voice.

Renowned for her bold use of color and expressive technique, Susan Overstreet creates vivid works using both palette knife and brushwork, skillfully balancing abstraction and representation. Her work is deeply influenced by the ever-changing landscapes of Cape Cod, where she paints both en plein air and in the studio, drawing inspiration from natural forms, shifting light, and the human figure.

We have scholarships! The Cape Cod Museum of Art is committed to making Art accessible to everyone in the Cape Cod Community. The Museum School Scholarship Fund provides tuition assistance to qualified, year-round Cape Cod residents ages 6 and up. Click here to apply.
