This recital features Rachmaninoff's expressive and virtuosic cello sonata and Haydn's joyful D-Major cello concerto (for which Elizabeth has composed an original cadenza).
Elizabeth Miya Jones, 20, is a cellist from Greenwich, Connecticut. She is a second-year Harvard/New England Conservatory Dual Degree candidate, pursuing a bachelor's degree in History of Art and Architecture at Harvard as well as a master's degree in Cello Performance at NEC in the studio of Paul Katz. Elizabeth is a graduate of Greens Farms Academy and The Juilliard School Pre-College, where she was a student of Amy Barston.
Elizabeth received Grand Prix at the Concert Festival International Competition and First Prizes at the American Fine Arts Festival and Golden Key Music Festival. She has served as principal cellist of the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra and Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra; and has performed at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital…
