This monthly workshop for teen artists will review the building of a still life composition from simple to complex using different objects, shapes, and color values with Instructor Michele Francoeur. The class is open equally to experienced young artists and to those who have never held a brush before. Acrylic paint, canvases, brushes, palette knives, and easels will be provided. Teens will enjoy expressing themselves with paint!

Michele Francoeur is an Artist and an Art Educator at the John T. Nichols, Jr. Middle School in Middleborough, MA.

“I have been creating since I was a child. Ever since I was little I have always loved and had an appreciation for beauty. Whenever I saw the world's beauty my heart would soar. When I was 12, my mother gave me my first watercolor set and my heart sang. I followed the path of creativity. I went to Parsons School of Design in NYC and become a graphic designer. It was when I had children that I came back to the path of painting. One day I took some bright pastels, and filled the paper with vibrant shapes and colors! My first abstract painting. I started painting again and even went back to graduate school to get my Master’s degree in Painting -- a full circle. Art is an incredible process: it connects, communicates, and is a form of expression. It is a universal language, an apple is the same picture around the world. It resonates with our souls, lifts us up, and inspires us.”
