About
Founded in 1866, the Peabody Museum is devoted to anthropology with a focus in the Americas. Tager will guide you through the Museum’s storied history during a slide presentation and talk. You will learn how he helped reimagine and redesign the fourth floor gallery that currently houses their 150th anniversary exhibition - All the World Is Here: Harvard’s Peabody Museum and the Invention of American Anthropology.
Unveiled within a beautifully restored gallery, the exhibition features an astonishing array of over 600 objects from Asia, Oceania, and the Americas, many on display for the very first time. Together they are woven into a compelling narrative tracing the early history of the Museum’s collections and the birth of American anthropology.
Samuel Tager, a part time resident of Provincetown, was also recently named Consulting Curator of the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum.
The Peabody Museum is a member of the Harvard Museums of Science and Culture.
