About

The Museum School at the Cape Cod Museum of Art presents:

2-Day Shibori Workshop with Sue Fox Mitrano

Tuesday, June 4, and Wednesday, June 5, from 10:00-1:30 pm.

Member $175 / Non-Member $185, includes $45 materials fee

Learn the ancient art of Shibori dyeing! Create fabulous wearables using Indigo dye for yourself or to give as gifts. Several different techniques will be taught and participants will choose how to prep their fabrics. On Day 1, students will create TWO silk scarves - over $100 retail value - from start to finish! On Day 2, students may opt to create a large cotton tote or 2 cotton scarves. Students will spend time prepping the fabric before soaking. The fabric will then be submerged multiple times in the dye vat before rinsing thoroughly and hanging to dry. You'll be sure to "ooh and aah" over your results. Come see why everyone loves Shibori!

Students should bring their own pair of rubber gloves, longer-styled dish-washing gloves work best.

An artist working in many mediums, Sue Fox Mitrano of Blue Fox Studio, currently creates Shibori textiles and nature-inspired linocut prints.
