Instrumental and vocal selections from Brazil and the Great American Songbook with Fabiano de Castro – piano and voice (piano e voz); Ron Ormsby – acoustic bass (baixo acústico); and Bart Weisman – drums (bateria).
Fabiano de Castro from São Paulo, Brazil, and Ron Ormsby from Cape Cod have worked together since 2007 both in Brazil and in the United States. They specialize in Brazilian music from bossa nova and samba to original Brazilian jazz as well as American Jazz and the Great American Songbook. In addition to Fabiano’s original compositions, they perform the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Newton Mendonça, Johnny Alf, Noel Rosa, João Donato, Luiz Bonfá, and many more.
In Brazil, Fabiano and Ron have appeared at Jazz Festivals and innumerable clubs/restaurants in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Rio de Janeiro. Together they have appeared many times as a duo, trio, and in larger band configurations. In this performance, Fabiano has chosen to converse with bass and percussion in a trio setting. Joining them on drums and percussion will be Bart Weisman, also fluent in Brazilian styles and American Jazz. Come join the conversation and enjoy some authentic Brazilian music.
All concerts are held outside, under the tent in our sculpture garden. In case of rain, the concert will be held inside the museum in our spacious gallery. No need to bring chairs, we have plenty for everyone! Feel free to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy on our lawn before the concert!
