Painting It Simple! 1-Day Workshop with Patty Barnes

Saturday, April 13, from 11:00 – 3:00 pm.

Member $80 / Non-Member $100

This is not finger painting!  Patty Barnes instructs the group in simple techniques using a credit card and other tools to make bold marks that capture color and light. Students may use brushes and palette knives for finer details. No experience is necessary, great for beginners or anyone looking for a fun 1-day workshop. Students should bring lunch.

Materials

• Expired credit card
• The instructor will supply both oil and acrylic paint and provide canvases and brushes
• Participants may bring photographs or follow guided examples

Patricia Barnes, an award-winning oil painter, studied watercolor, drawing, and oil painting at Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY, graduating with a BFA in Art History. Barnes earned her Master's Degree at the University of Wisconsin. Her work has sold nationally and internationally. Barnes specializes in oils that capture the heart of Cape Cod expressed through light and color— often with a touch of whimsy.

Barnes’ work is available at The Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis, MA, and Eastwind Gallery in Orleans, MA. She is a juried member of the American Impressionist Society, Inc., Oil Painters of America, and the Cape Cod Art Center. Barnes lives in Dennis, MA.
