About

Trash... or TREASURE?

Don’t throw it away, give it new life! In this class, you’ll learn how to upcycle your discard pile, turning junk into gems. You’ll transform old paper into works of art, make your own paint and brushes, and create one-of-a-kind eco-prints. We will also visit the Dennis Conservation Land Trust, 107 Sesuit Neck Road, East Dennis, MA 02641, take a walk, and collect natural objects to use in our art class at the museum. Together we’ll make the world more sustainable while creating something beautiful in the process!

Jennifer Stratton is a visual artist, musician, and expressive/creative arts facilitator. She lives in Hyannis with her husband. Jennifer’s experience with the healing power of expressive art led to a strong desire to help others tune in to their own creative gifts. In 2009, she received her Certificate of Graduate Studies in the Professional Application of Expressive Arts for Healing, also at Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I. She works with organizations, groups, and individuals using expressive arts as a way for people to deepen their own self-discovery process, as a tool to deal with specific issues, and also to just have fun, learn about art and build community. Most recently, she held the position of Art Director for the Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod in Mashpee. She is also a certified CTI-trained Life Coach.

The Cape Cod Museum of Art is committed to making Art accessible to everyone in the Cape Cod Community. The Museum School Scholarship Fund provides tuition assistance to qualified, year-round Cape Cod residents ages 6 and up. Click here to apply.
