Songs of love and romance to warm the heart on Valentine's Day. An all classical program for cello, clarinet, piano. On program: Finzi, Poulenc, Piazzola, Liszt, Villa-Lobos, Faure, Purcell, Debussy.

Musician Bios

Mónika Woods

“Chosen by the clarinet”, Transylvanian born Hungarian clarinetist, and Cape Symphony 2013 Soloist winner, Mónika Woods, was noted for her “tender and insightful playing” and “exquisite musicianship” in a review by Keith Powers also stating “her soft passages sounded like whispers, and when she played with force, it was with complete confidence.” (Cape Cod Times - By Keith Powers, May 05, 2013).

Mónika Woods received her musical training at the prestigiuos Gh. Dima Music Academy, where she graduated with high honors and a Masters in Stylistics of Clarinet Performance. Mónika teaches multiple levels on multiple instruments, she loves to be diving into music from a variety of angles, and is grateful to live in a place that appreciates the arts. Monika is co-founder of Open Mic Classical (www.openmicclassical.org), an organization promoting classical music.

Abigail Field is a performing classical pianist of 30 years as well as a teacher.  Abigail has been awarded the Ezra Rachlin award for her performance of Chopin's Heroic Polonaise and has performed with the Dvorak Trio and Vellichor Duo as well as other chamber ensembles throughout New England, in addition to solo performances in Maine.  Abigail is currently a Cape Cod resident, a mother of three and CEO of the Cape Wellness Collaborative.  When not playing the piano, Abigail can be found outside, sailing, hiking and camping.

Lisa Gross, a Miami, Florida native, has been playing the cello and the piano since the age of nine.  She has played extensively in musical festivals throughout the country, including Brevard, Interlochen and Sewanee Music Festival.

*Your in-person ticket includes the option to watch the live stream concert from the comfort of your home, giving you more flexibility. A Unique Zoom Link will be emailed to you 3 days before the concert and again on the day of the concert, if you choose to watch remotely.
