Make Your Own Journal with Heather Pilchard: 1-Day Bookbinding Workshop

Join artist Heather Pilchard in this one-day hard-cover journal with decorative stitching hands-on workshop! We will use colorful book cloth, decorative paste paper, and wax linen thread to create a journal. The joy of this book is how easy it is to stitch together. The sewing pattern is a simple pamphlet stitch used to attach the pages. The stitching is visible on the outside of the book, adding a distinctive design element to the finished book! 

Heather Pilchard is a painter, photographer, and bookbinder. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in 1995. She has exhibited widely in New England as well as nationally. Pilchard is a year-round resident of Eastham on Cape Cod and lives in a house just above a salt marsh. She is a volunteer with the Wellfleet Bay Audubon Society helping to rescue cold-stunned sea turtles and monitors diamondback terrapins during their nesting season.
