The Cape Cod Jazz Trio will be performing Jazz Standards. The Trio includes members from the Cape Cod Jazz Quartet with Fred Boyle on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums. This trio performs yearly across Cape Cod at concerts, events, and restaurants.
Fred Boyle is a gifted pianist and accompanist who has performed with the Platters, Bobby Rydell, Boots Randolph, Chet Atkins, Denny Dias (Steely Dan), Joan Rivers and New England favorites Dick Johnson, Shawnn Monteiro, Suede, Cape Cod Jazz Quartet, and the Cape Symphony. Fred has traveled extensively as music director for Norwegian Cruise Line and featured pianist for Seabourn Cruise Line. Fred has performed at the Provincetown Jazz Festival, Regatta Bar and Scullers Jazz Club.
Ron Ormsby is a jazz bassist originally from Boston, where he studied at Berklee College of Music. In addition to performing at many of the local Boston jazz clubs, he was a founding member of the Boston Jazz Quartet which played extensively throughout New England and made two tours through Europe. From 1979 to 1984, he owned and operated The Columns Restaurant, a well-known jazz club on Cape Cod. For twenty years Ron was the bassist and personal manager for pianist Marie Marcus and performed in jazz clubs from Cape Cod to Miami and the Newport/New York Jazz Festival. He has also appeared in concert with jazz greats such as Chuck Wayne, Warren Vache, Joe Muranyi, Dick Johnson, Billy Stritch, Howard Alden, Ken Peplowski, and many others.Â
Bart Weisman performs with his Jazz Group, Klezmer Swing Group, Smooth Jazz Group, and Cape Cod Jazz Quartet on Cape Cod. Bart has worked with a number of musicians on Cape Cod including J. Geils, Molly Ringwald, Ken Peplowski, Rebecca Parris, Eddie Higgins, Lou Colombo, Dick Johnson, and many more. Bart is the Founder, Executive Producer & Performer for the Provincetown Jazz Festival and performs at the Grand Cru Restaurant, West End Restaurant, Bleu Restaurant, The Club Provincetown, and Summer Jazz with Bart Weisman Concert Series at Provincetown Art Association and Museum. Bart is the Jazz Band Director at Sturgis East and directs & performs for the Jazz in the Schools program. Bart relocated with his wife to Cape Cod from Washington, D.C., and was with The United States Air Force Band.Â
