About

In “Remember This House” Raoul Peck envisions the book James Baldwin never finished -a radical narration about race in America, through the lives and assassinations of three of his friends: Martin Luther King Jr., Medgar Evers and Malcolm X. using only the writer’s original words.

I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO will be the subject of a Special Film Event at the Cape Cinema. The film was chosen by artists Frank Anigbo and Richard Neal in conjunction with their current exhibit about racism titled Fragile, at the Cape Cod Museum of Art. Filmmaker Raoul Peck directed and Samuel L. Jackson narrated this 2016 documentary about James Baldwin’s unfinished manuscript exploring the history of racism in the United States.

On November 30, the Museum will offer free admission from 5:30 - 6:30 pm to view the exhibition. The artists will be onsite to meet the public and then will introduce the film at the Cape Cinema’s 7 pm screening. Includes a video featuring discussions in the gallery prior to the opening of the exhibit. I Am Not Your Negro was Oscar-nominated for Best Documentary.
