Edward Gorey Goreyocity

Author, illustrator, book artist, and playwright Edward Gorey turned his Yarmouth Port home into an eclectic Wunderkammer (cabinet of curiosities) of fine art, found art, antiquities, kitsch, beach debris, tools, toys, cats and books (25,000 books at the time of his death in 2000). Curator Gregory Hischak will discuss Edward’s collecting tendencies and tastes, and talk about the work that Cape artists have created from Edward’s collections as part of the upcoming Goreyosity Shop exhibit at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. Gregory Hischak is a playwright, poet and Curator of the Edward Gorey House in Yarmouth Port.
