About

Dynamic DESIGN with Lauren Brading

August 5-9, Monday - Friday

9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Ages 10 - 16

What do graphic designers, illustrators, fine artists, architects, animators, interior designers, photographers, fashion designers, film makers and publishers all have in common? You guessed it - a strong and comprehensive understanding of the principles of design!

This hands-on workshop is a unique opportunity for young designers to spend time experimenting with the elements of visual design. They will be working with concepts like composition, pattern, scale, movement, color theory and texture as they learn to create exciting, dynamic designs which can be applied to a variety of media.

Individual development and creative expression will be at the core of all the workshops, encouraging students to experiment and explore the many forms of design. Students will apply these new skills to their own personal projects in graphic design, fashion, interior design and digital photography - sharing ideas, techniques and inspiration in a calm and pressure free environment conducive to creative thinking!

Lauren Brading is one of the museum educators at the Cape Cod Museum of Art and enjoys nothing more than seeing students of all ages engage in the creative process. She received her BA (Honors) in Psychology and Fine Art in 1994 from the University of New Hampshire and a Post Graduate Diploma in Design from the London College of Communication where she was awarded a Distinction for Book Arts and Crafts in 2008. Lauren was a finalist in the Epson International Digital Print Awards and a featured artist and member of the Association of Illustrators in London. While living in England, she also studied painting and color theory with Christiana Kubrick at ‘Childwickbury Arts’. Lauren has worked as a freelance artist and illustrator for over twenty years and has enjoyed designing for a variety of clients including Woman & Home Magazine, Cambridge University Botanic Garden, Varoom Magazine, WHSmith, Sessions Publishing, Midwest-CBK Gifts, Epson, Barnardo’s, Classic Editions, and Brookfields Hospital Cambridge. She has also exhibited at several fine art galleries in London and the US and has taught creative art workshops throughout her career .
