About

Paint Night! from  6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 26, 2020

One of the world's famous nocturnal landscapes will be used as inspiration for your own Starry Night. Susan will discuss the use of expressive brushwork that defined Van Gogh's work.

Acrylic paint, canvases, brushes, palette knives, palettes, easels and smocks will be provided.  The class is open equally to experienced painters and to those who have never held a brush before.  Each person will take away a painting along with new ideas about the creative process and visual expression.

Artist’s Statement

“Art is a soulful response to a subject. I am inspired by the people and environments of Cape Cod and places that I travel. My process begins with an emotional connection to a subject. I study how best to technically get this reaction on the canvas and then use my brushes and colors to convey my individual expression. It is a joyful challenge to hone an evolving, experimental, technical process that honors the world around us.” — Susan Overstreet
