About
Great painting begins with understanding color, form, and the artists who came before. In this immersive summer class, young artists will explore works from the permanent collection, drawing inspiration directly from the masters to inform their own creative practice.
In this 4 day course artists will
Conduct experiments in color from Josef Albers of the Bauhaus movement
Incorporate hue, saturation, and value into their artwork
Learn different painting techniques
Develop and execute their own artworks
As part of the course, we will look at some select works from the Museum’s personal collection.
