About

Explore the creative possibilities of gelatin plate printmaking through drawing, transfer, and collage techniques. Participants will transfer pencil, charcoal, and chalk drawings to the gelatin plate to create unique monoprints rich with texture and expressive mark-making. Prints are pulled on delicate mulberry (tengucho) paper and layered with collage papers to build depth, transparency, and visual complexity. This process encourages experimentation while combining elements of drawing, printmaking, and mixed media into finished works of art.
Barbara Ford Doyle was born and raised on a small farm in Connecticut. She attended UMass Amherst and Southern Connecticut University majoring in art education. Moving to Cape Cod, she taught art/photography in public schools and published a line of stationery products. She maintains a website of Alternate Photo Imaging at bfdoyle.com and is a founding member of the digital artists group ArtSynergies.
