About
This playful, hands-on class invites young artists to explore clay through imagination, curiosity, and experimentation. Using handbuilding techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab construction, students will create one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by their own ideas.
Projects may include creatures, small sculptures, vessels, or functional forms—but the focus is on process over perfection. Students will learn foundational clay skills while also discovering how to take creative risks, explore texture, and bring their ideas to life in three dimensions.
Students will also have the opportunity to try the pottery wheel for one class session—an exciting chance to experience a different way of working with clay.
We’ll use underglazes (clay paint) to add color and personality to each piece. Work will be kiln-fired and ready for pickup about 2–3 weeks after class. Families will be notified when pieces are ready.

She lives on Cape Cod with her family, enjoys travel and nature, and is currently exploring painting and printmaking in her studio while working toward her Master’s in Teaching.
