Rain date: Sunday, November 17, from 1:00 – 2:30 pm.

Free and open to the public. RSVPs appreciated!

Come celebrate with the artists at the Closing Reception for the Cape Cod Open Sculpture Invitational exhibition that has showcased 30 large-scale outside sculptures on our 22-acre campus and 40 indoor sculptures in the CCMoA. People’s choice and Juror’s choice awards will be announced with light refreshments.

For additional excitement, Sandwich glass artist Michael Magyar will be demonstrating his portable glass furnace/glory hole combo called the Mini Dragon. He will be creating an outdoor sculptural installation using his portable furnace and green beer bottle glass. One of the most fascinating aspects of glass is that it is a forever recyclable material.

On Cape Cod, glass has been made for generations. The town of Sandwich, Massachusetts, has been famous for its "Sandwich glass" produced at the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company, in operation from 1826 - 1888.

Today, glassblower Michael Magyar continues this proud tradition at his Glass Studio on Cape Cod, located on historic Route 6-A in East Sandwich. Michael Magyar glass art is found in our Museum Shop, across the United States and in Japan.
