Materials list: instructor supplied materials and tools, there is an additional fee for metal clay not included in workshop fee

In this day-long workshop, you will use an exclusive template to create your version of Kim’s newest design, The Cape Cod Wave. The solid fine silver pendant utilizes tiny, delicate, pieces over textured backgrounds to simulate a wave crashing over and into the sand. Miniature sea creatures are met with the foamy water’s edge, which is created using a new technique Kim developed incorporating dried recycled metal clay bits. Holographic UV resin is applied for shimmer. A dainty white CZ (included in the workshop fee) is also set in the water. The wave itself is actually a generous bail, where the pendant allows for nearly any sized chain to pass through for wearing. The piece will be kiln-fired during the workshop.

Due the more advanced techniques used, this workshop is best for individuals who have previously taken at least one metal clay class. The cost of your clay will be determined upon the weight of your finished piece and is not included in the workshop fee. You will pay Kim for it directly at the end of the session. FYI, the sample in the photo weighs 14 grams, which is equal to $56 in fine silver metal clay. The weight of each piece will vary depending on finished size. A limited number of chains will be available for purchase. Feel free to bring your own.  A longer chain is recommended. Please bring a bagged lunch/snacks if desired.

This course is offered in conjunction with Why Cape Cod? on exhibit January 16 - March 30, 205.
