Join us for an evening of Poetry Readings by the thirty Cape Cod poets participating in the exhibition, Poetic License: ReVisioning the CCMoA Permanent Collection, Free and open to the public!

Last fall, the Cape Cod Museum of Art (CCMoA) invited 30 Cape Cod poets to write a poem inspired by an artwork of their choosing from the CCMoA Permanent Collection. Poets were asked to consider the artwork as a visual prompt, to internalize and then respond to the artwork through their poetry in any way they saw fit. For this exhibition, the inspired poems will be displayed on panels adjacent to the original artworks that sparked their creation in CCMoA’s largest exhibition space – the Hope / McClennen Gallery. Exhibition dates: October 17, 2024 - January 12 , 2025. See participating poets below.

Three awards will be given: $300 first, $200 second and $100 for third place during the evening of Poetry Readings.

There will be an Opening Reception for the exhibition on Thursday, November 7th. A video of the poetry readings will be shown at the reception.
