Materials and firings included in cost. Recommended for returning beginner and intermediate students.

Rebecca Matarazzi (b. Lebanon, PA. 1958) works in a style of her own in both mid-range stoneware and low-fire clay, creating one-of-a-kind functional pottery. Her pieces start with adding colored slips to the surface, followed by drawings, to adding more layers of colorful underglazes, a layer of wax, then carved and sanded to reveal layers of clay beneath the intricate lines that detail the subject matter.

Rebecca is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in Ceramics. After university, Rebecca had a 30+ year career working as a Chef. As her work continues to evolve, the colors and carved objects on her pottery continue to be reflective of life on Cape Cod along with her love of cooking and sharing food with friends.

“I get inspiration from the natural environment, creating designs for the home and kitchen that are pleasing both visually and tactilely. My teaching style is to observe each student and assess their individual needs in perfecting our craft. After almost 3 decades living on Cape Cod, I now live in Southwest Florida where I spend my days working in my pottery studio, using the Florida sun to hasten drying while fresh pieces await their first firing!”

Please, park in the back of the museum - take the 2nd driveway off of Hope Lane. You will enter the building through the pottery studio in the back.
