Member $80 / Non-Member $100, includes $5 materials fee
In this class, students of all abilities are invited to experiment with traditional stitching techniques and a variety of materials to create embroidered works of art. Throughout this class, participants will explore the fusion of fabric, thread, beads, sequins, and more to create unique textures, layers, and visual narratives. Â Teen students are welcome with a participating/registered adult.
Guided by experienced instructor, Kate Clark, students will learn fundamental embroidery stitches and techniques, while also experimenting with unconventional materials to push the boundaries of traditional needlework. Whether you're a seasoned embroidery artist looking to expand your repertoire or a beginner eager to explore the intersection of textiles and mixed media art, this course offers a supportive environment for artistic exploration and skill development.
Students should bring their own 6" embroidery hoop.
Kate Clark is a mixed-media embroidery artist who graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Montserrat College of Art. Her unique artistry seamlessly blends traditional embroidery techniques with a variety of materials, creating visually compelling and textured works that capture the imagination.
