Paint the Collection: Mayo Sorgman, The Marsh, with Michael Giaquinto

Friday, September 29, 6:00pm - 8:00pm

$35 Member / $45 Non-Member 

Instructor Michael Giaquinto will instruct the group in a landscape inspired by Mayo Sorgman. Part of our "Paint the Collection" series of Paint Nights, patrons will enjoy this unique opportunity to see up close Cape Cod Museum of Art collection pieces on display for each class.

PAINT NIGHT! is open equally to experienced painters and those who have never held a brush. Middle and High School students are welcome to register with a participating parent for this class. Acrylic paint, canvases, brushes, palette knives, and easels will be provided to those attending Paint Night. Please bring your own smock. You are welcome to bring beverages and individually wrapped snacks.

Michael Giaquinto, former Cape Cod Museum of Art Exhibitions Curator, studied art at Montserrat College of Art, Beverly, MA and Art History at North Carolina State University. He taught art at St. John Paul II High School in Hyannis, MA and currently teaches adult painting at the Weny Education Center at the Cape Cod Museum of Art.

He has held workshops at the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, Lincoln, MA & The Truro Center for the Arts, and Falmouth Art Center. Giaquinto was awarded "Craftsman of the Year" by the Early American Life Magazine in 2001 and 2005. He is represented in Deborah Forman's book, Contemporary Cape Cod Artists on Abstraction, 2015.

The Cape Cod Museum of Art is committed to making Art accessible to everyone in the Cape Cod Community. The Museum School Scholarship Fund provides tuition assistance to qualified, year-round Cape Cod residents ages 6 and up. Click here to apply.
