Even the most experienced painters need new challenges to keep things fresh. They also need to share ideas with other painters. Ed Chesnovitch’s CCMoA Painting Group provides a great opportunity to advance your art!
Each week Ed provides a different prompt or challenge to the artists, who apply it to subjects of their own choice. Being open to trying new techniques and taking risks, makes painting exciting! Ed provides feedback to students individually and encourages group discussion.
Principles of Composition, Shape, Value, and Color will also be reviewed to make the art stronger! Artists learn how to get the bones of the painting down first, without wasting time in the beginning with unnecessary details. Ed also demonstrates the importance of building up a surface history, and how “taking off” is just as important as “putting on.”
This is not a beginner’s class and is not formatted for watercolors. Bring the supplies you want to work with for the first class and we’ll take it from there.
