About

The Museum School at the Cape Cod Museum of Art presents:

Two-Day Holiday Clay Gift Workshop with Todd French

Saturday, December 9 and Sunday, December 10, from 12:30 – 3:00 pm

Member $65 / Non-Member $80; includes $10 material fee

Slab-based ceramics are easy and fun to produce for seasoned ceramic artists and newbies alike. Join instructor Todd French for a fun 2-day clay workshop creating holiday gift that you and your loved ones will be thrilled to receive. Todd will share lots of slab-based ideas and examples with the group including charcuterie boards, jewelry trays, and colanders.

Day 1, students will focus on constructing a serving dish, that would make a lovely holiday gift. Students are encouraged to bring fun things to press into clay for pattern decoration such as doilies, feathers, and leaves. Or bring something meaningful like a wedding ring or a key to the front door, most anything will work!

Day 2, students will be under-glazing or “painting” their work. Together we’ll have a lot of fun, and your work will be fired and ready in time for the holidays.

Todd French holds a BFA with a concentration in ceramic sculpture. He has been teaching art classes and workshops on Cape Cod for years and is the current coordinator of the Chatham Festival of the Arts, sponsored by the Creative Arts Center. Todd loves sharing the joy of making things in clay accessible and fun.

The Cape Cod Museum of Art is committed to making Art accessible to everyone in the Cape Cod Community. The Museum School Scholarship Fund provides tuition assistance to qualified, year-round Cape Cod residents ages 6 and up. Click here to apply.

Cancellation policy: CCMoA must be notified 1 week prior for refund.
