Learn from one of Cape Cod’s most celebrated artists, Bill Evaul, practicing the traditional white-line color woodblock technique. Invented in Provincetown in the early 1900s, sometimes referred to as the Provincetown Print, this technique creates a multi-colored print from a singular carved woodblock. On the first day of the class come prepared with several possible print ideas. You can print from a drawing or translate it from any other art medium, or photograph. Abstract compositions are also a possibility.

A Provincetown artist since 1970, William Evaul produces oil paintings and white-line woodblock prints as well as works on paper: drawings, watercolors, and monotypes and monoprints. He employs a vibrant color palette and a kind of figurative expressionism to create a wide variety of images including musicians, New York skylines, nudes, wine bottle still-lifes, and a lively fauvist/cubist series called "Dancing Houses." As an educator, curator, and art consultant in the field of 20th Century Art, Evaul conducts art workshops in white-line woodcut printmaking, slide lectures on Provincetown Art History, and organizes exhibitions.
Cancellation Policy: A one-week advance cancellation notice is required in order to receive a refund.
