About

The Museum School at the Cape Cod Museum of Art presents:

CCMoA Painting Pack (Intermediate to Advanced) with Ed Chesnovitch

(6) Tuesdays, October 31 - December 5, from 10:00- 12:30 pm.

Member $225 / Non-Member $240

Even the most experienced painters need new challenges to keep things fresh. They also need to share ideas with other painters. Ed Chesnovitch’s CCMoA Painting Pack provides a great opportunity to advance your art!

Each week Ed provides a different prompt or challenge to the artists, who apply it to subjects of their own choice. Being open to trying new techniques and taking risks, makes painting exciting! Ed provides feedback to students individually and encourages group discussion.

Principles of Composition, Shape, Value, and Color will also be reviewed to make the art stronger! Artists learn how to get the bones of the painting down first, without wasting time in the beginning with unnecessary details. Ed also demonstrates the importance of building up a surface history, and how “taking off” is just as important as “putting on.”

This is not a beginner’s class and is not formatted for watercolors. Bring the supplies you want to work with for the first class and we’ll take it from there.

Ed Chesnovitch, a Cape Cod artist, is a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and has studied extensively at The Art Students League of New York, and the Cape Cod School of Art, Provincetown, Massachusetts. He is an elected Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America (PSA) in Gramercy Park, New York City, and both a Signature Member and past President of the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod. His work is featured in the book Contemporary Cape Cod Artists: Images of Land and Sea, by Deborah Forman, 2013 Schiffer Publishing, and he was juried twice into Pastel Journal Magazine's top 100 pastelists of the year. He is represented on Cape Cod at Left Bank Gallery, Wellfleet and Orleans, MA. His work is included in corporate, public and private collections throughout the United States and Europe.
