This is an in-person workshop

This class will build your understanding of design and composition through fundamental studies. The primary elements and forces of composition will be explored based on the Bauhaus Foundation Course. The task is always to activate the surface. After each study is complete, the class will analyze the work, discussing the impact different compositions impose.

I took this class with Ati Gropius Johansen. She was the daughter of Walter Gropius, Bauhaus architect, and she studied under Josef Albers at Black Mountain College.

Anyone may enjoy this class, it is not intended for artists only.

Please bring: 18” metal ruler with cork side  Pencil with eraser Scissors – the best you have Scotch tape Kleenex  Notebook for notes Beverage and Snack in case we run past 12:00
