Dynamic Design For Young Adults

Dynamic DESIGN: Young Adults (ages 15 - 18)

What do graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, fine artists, architects, animators, interior designers, videographers, fashion designers, film makers and publishers all have in common? You guessed it - a strong and comprehensive understanding of the principles of design!

This hands-on workshop is a unique opportunity for young adults to spend time experimenting with the elements of visual design. They will be working with concepts like composition, pattern, scale, movement, color theory and texture as they learn to create exciting, dynamic designs which can later be applied to a variety of media (including digital). Individual development and creative expression will be at the core of all the workshops, encouraging students to experiment and explore the many forms of design, so that they can develop a deeper understanding of the structure and interaction of visual elements in their personal projects.

The 90 minute workshops will be held in the museum’s art education room and the students will have access to the museum’s extensive art collection and library. Each workshop will focus on a new concept and the art facilitator will discuss examples of work from a variety of visual art fields. Sharing ideas, techniques and inspiration in a calm and pressure free environment conducive to creative thinking, students will be able to support one another’s artistic interests and development - perfect for portfolio building for higher education but also as a hobby for anyone who enjoys the creative process!
