Creating Stories on Your iPad with Rita Colantonio on Zoom  Two Saturdays,  February 20 & 27  11:30 am – 1:30 pm, $100 CCMoA and CCAC members / $130 non-members

For the storyteller or the reader of books and poems, for the inner poet and lover of lyrics, for the romantic with a collection of favorite books, for the writer of children’s stories, this workshop is for you. Creating digital images on the iPad can bring your stories to life! The skills learned here can be useful for creating book covers, cards and illustrations for books. We will use Procreate and IColorama apps to composite elements that will build your story. Your own camera rolls can supply what you need. We will explore the basic techniques of choosing and cutting out the best elements. We will choose a background and overall texture and ambiance for mood. We will also learn to use text in our images. Because we will be working with layers, Procreate app will be our go to app.

This is an INTERMEDIATE course and requires some basic knowledge of Procreate, IColorama and Mextures Apps. The focus of this course is the development of concepts and the skills involved in implementing those concepts.

This class is being offered as a collaboration between our Museum School and the Cape Cod Art Center.

You will be sent a zoom link from the Cape Cod Art Center prior to the first class.

- Please have Procreate (the updated version), IColorama and Mextures installed on your iPad.

Instructor Bio:

Rita Colantonio is an award winning digital artist and juried member of the Cape Cod Art Center since 2005. She is a former art educator and painter. Rita has won many awards for her digital art and photography, locally, nationally and internationally. Rita was interviewed by Chronicle (ABC TV) in 2017 after winning a Best in Show in Cape Cod Art Center’s first online international digital art competition. Rita is a digital art teacher at the Cape Cod Art Center and member of the Cape Cod Art Center Digital Art Group and National Association of Digital Artists (naDA). You can see her work exhibited regularly at the Art Center and at Nirvana Coffee Co in Barnstable, MA

Rita has published two book covers to date, both involving digital art techniques.
