Explore Who YOU Are: Self Portrait Study with Sharon Keller Hughes
August 5 - 9, from 9:00 – 11:30.
Members $195 / Non-Members $210 materials included.
Ages 8-12. Register early, class size is limited to 12 students!

During this one-week self portrait study, students will explore ways to draw and paint themselves in both abstract and realistic formats with a variety of mediums. We will learn about famous artists like Picasso, Frida Kahlo, and Van Gogh- all masters of self expression in self portraits. Please bring 1 photo of yourself to work from. Small plexiglass mirrors will be provided.
- Students must be 8 years of age or older
- Students must be checked in and out by an accompanying adult
- Students should bring a drink and snack each day

Sharon Keller Hughes began her educational career in Visual Arts obtaining her BFA in 1993 from Anna Maria College and double majored in Art Education and Art Therapy. She taught art to students K -12 in both public and private schools and at the museum level for many summers at Worcester Art Museum. Sharon cares deeply about having students express themselves visually in meaningful ways to connect to each other and the world around them. Sharon also has a M.Ed in Special Education and was a special educator for many years & worked as an elementary school Assistant Principal in Harwich. It brings her great joy to circle back to teaching visual art once again. Sharon is an Art Teacher at Wellfleet Elementary School.
