Bring the kids any time to go on the ArtQuest IN THE GALLERIES – a quest to find details in our current exhibitions. Parents enjoy the interaction of sharing art with the children and the children are given a special prize to take home.

SUMMER ART CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Summer Art Camp for ages 6 - 12

Week 1: Multi-Media Adventures

Go on an adventure in artistic creation. Use assorted materials to produce diverse multi-media projects and develop a greater understanding of how to achieve a variety of visual effects.
Week 2: All Kinds of Art

Come have fun with dynamic 2-D and 3-D art using neon, fluorescent and acrylic paint, masks, modeling dough, paper maché, weaving and more!
Week 3: Drawing and Painting

Create unique artwork inspired by the techniques of master artists like Picasso, Mondrian and Rembrandt. Discover how color, composition and different methods of paint application can help you achieve fun, eye-catching images.
Week 4: The Art of Animals

Polish drawing skills and learn to draw animals by seeing the basic shapes within. Bring favorite animals to life in sculpture using papier mache, wire, paint and jazzy details. Have a grrrr...eat time painting animals with acrylics on canvas.
Week 5: Sun, Sand & Salt Water

Build your own beach using shells, sand, beads and more. This class incorporates natural elements and enables students to recreate their favorite seaside scenery.
Week 6: Art of the Circus

Come and create animals and performers of your own circus using drawing and painting skills. Design a circus ring of animals out of paper maché, wire and paint. Let the show begin!
Week 7: Art from the Sea

Discover the art that can be made from the nature around us and your imagination. Create mobiles, mosaics, paintings and more from the inspiration of the sea.
Week 8: Art from Found Objects
Ursula Coute August 16 – 20
Members: $150 Non-members: $175
Gather up some creative spirit and turn household junk into works of art. Experiment with printmaking, collage, weaving and sculpture. Draw and design a puppet built from found or recycled objects.
Week 9: Drawing and Printmaking
Ursula Coute August 23 – 27
Members: $150 Non-members: $175
Explore different printmaking and drawing techniques to create texture, movement, balance and depth. Look to favorite storybook authors for inspiration designing book covers for your own stories.
